Obituary of Betty Garden
GARDEN, Betty (nee Henderson)
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our dear precious Mother and Nana on November 14, 2018, in her 94th year. Having lived a life worthy of the calling of her Lord and Savior Jesus, Betty shared her faith with everyone she met. As a member of Philpott Memorial Church for over 70 years, we grew up hearing the stories of her time working at Mission Services, and with children and their parents in the Pioneer Girls, where her gift of evangelism touched and changed so many lives. Mom had a love of poetry and collected and wrote verses that spoke of her source of strength in God to face life’s challenges. Betty leaves a legacy of love and service to her children, Carol (Bob) Miller, David (Julie) and Bob (Sharon). So proud of her grandchildren and the joy they brought her, she is the cherished Nana of Kristen (Mike), Lindsay (Tyler), Michael (Lynn), Christine (Luke), Amanda, Kyle, Jessica, and Great Nana to Jackson and Charlie. Betty is predeceased by husband, Alexander Simpson Garden (1995), sister Cosette Hall, and brothers, John and Gordon Henderson. A very special thank you to Dr. Guckian, Dr. Selbie, nurses Nadia, Leslie and Breanne and social worker Traci. Also particular thanks to Pastor Lew Worrad. Your tender care will always be remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations made to St. Peter’s Hospital would be appreciated. A private family service has already taken place. Notes of sympathy and condolence may be left at www.donaldvbrown.ca
Mom is safe in the arms of Jesus.
