He will be sorrowly missed by his loving companion of 30 years, Milena Volcansek. Ignac is survived by this sisters Mary (late Karel), Theresa (late Frank), sons John and James (Allison).

Grampa Iggy was adored by his grandchildren Daniel, David, Natalie and Andrew as well as his great-granddaughter Ava. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as Milena’s children and grandchildren.

Ignac was born in Slovenia on January 17, 1931 and arrived in Canada in the 50’s. He loved to tell stories of the Old Country and of his years at Dofasco where he proudly worked as a millwright for 30 years. He had tremendous work ethic, which he instilled in his family.

Ignac was a devoted member of St. Gregory the Great Parish where he often took up the collection. Iggy was a part of the team that built the iron fence around the church grounds.  He also was very proud of the prayer station that he constructed for Gates of Heaven Cemetery.
