Carol was THE COOLEST Bus driver we EVER had. She was always kind to us kids. We knew she LOVED her job, and we loved her. I remember about once a year she would take us kids on the school bus to Stoney Creek dairy to have ourselves a treat. We ALL appreciated that. I found out this past Saturday about Carol’s passing. I am in total shock and sad about hearing this. Carol Berry was not only THE COOLEST school bus driver. She was ALSO a VERY KIND human being as well. I will miss her.

They say it takes a Village I don’t think that many kids growing up in Binbrook didn’t consider Carol Berry as part of their village. Me and my brother were the first stop on her route and the last stop on the way home. Then we would see her at the rink cheering on the boys playing hockey. Praying for strength and love for Robert Mike Joanne and family in days ahead.Vivian(Anderson)Kinnear

I’m so very sorry for your loss . Where do I start .. seeing you recently Mike and extending a hug to your mom .. makes me smile . She was my fav bus driver all those years up n down to Orchard park and getting my butt home safely at night after tourneys and late games . We, had great chats in those rides and she let us do the unthinkable .. on the bus- she truly had a heart of gold and made my school years memorable as I can remember them today like they were yesterday. Biggest hugs Thank you for sharing her with us Nancy ( Moore) Longnecker

I'm sorry to hear about Carol''s passing! She was my bus driver in the late 1970s . She was a kind and generous lady and I'm sure many of her former passengers have fond memories of her from her many years of driving us to and from school in every kind of weather. Rest in peace Carol! Marina Sever Galloway and my brother Marko Sever

Some 60+ years ago, when Jim, Carol and family arrived at the resort my family owned south of Parry Sound, little did we know that we would all become life-long friends. Our parents spent many evenings solving the problems of the world (with a few drinks!) while us kids spent our days swimming, horse-back riding, dune-buggying (?), camping and everything else kids do. The one and two week summer visits eventually became seasonal visits. There are just too many memories but it comforts me to know that Carol and Jim are back together, probably having a drink and chat with Mom & Dad. Robert, Michael, Joanne and families - my sincerest sympathies.

Thanks Randy. Who would’ve have known that starting to go up to otter lake would be the best times of our lives too. So many memories for all of us BUT it would’ve been nice if you had a little sister!! Thanks again Randy.

I was so saddened when I got this news. So many memories go through a person's mind that it is hard to keep a handle on it. Just so many wonderful thoughts. Like, your mother telling us kids that if we picked enough wild black berries that she would make us a pie, well if I remember right she had to make more than one. I remember also how good it was. Those were the days. I know I will always remember her.

Thanks Rick. Like I said to Randy, best time of my life spent at Otter Lake growing up but didnt realize till later in life. She missed going up there. Joanne

So sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. We send our condolences to Joanne, Gerry, Michael and Courtney. We always enjoyed your Mom’s company, although we haven’t seen her in recent years. The ol’ racetrack was a good meeting ground back in the day!
Joanne sloan Posted Jan 17, 2026 at 7:05 AM
Thanks Gay. She so loved going to the races, still watched every night and followed a lot of the drivers. She would hear more stuff going on at the track then I did.

Sending prayers of comfort and peace to all of Carol's family. Bill & I, and our son have special memories of riding on "her bus" to Winona High School and Bellmoore school (the original one) many years ago. We have enjoyed reminiscing and reconnecting with her, when she was able to attend Knox in the past few years. Such a social lady, always with stories to tell and make us laugh. Carol was always so appreciative and giving to the Knox family and to us. Carol always 'up-front' with sharing her thoughts when we visited. A joy to call a friend. May she be at peace. Blessings to the family Bill, Diane & Cody Switzer

Thank you. Mom absolutely enjoyed her church family. It upset her when she couldn’t manage going anymore, but you, the minister and the rest of the congregation always went out of your way to reach out to her and still make her still feel part of it. Joanne and family
