Giovanna, I just found out the other day of your passing. You passed the day after my husband...I will cherish our laughs, talks and over all moments together. You were always one to make me laugh and understand certain things. Rest in peace Giovanna, such a strong, loving friend.

I’ve known Joanna since we were just 15 years old. Back then, it was the four of us—Maria, Sandy, Joanna, and me—spending countless hours together, forming the kind of bond that truly stands the test of time. Though life eventually took us in different directions, we reconnected with Joanna about five years ago and began to create some new memories together.
I remember our last outing vividly. It was in October—a winery day that Joanna was so excited about. She started the morning with a pumpkin spice latte and a breakfast sandwich, and, let’s be honest, Jo loved her food—especially anything sugary! She lit up when dessert was mentioned and never hesitated to indulge in something sweet. That day, she was in her element—enjoying good food, good wine, and good company.
Jo was working at the LCBO, and during our winery tour, she asked so many questions. At first, I thought, “Wow, Jo is really into this,” but it turns out she just wanted to know so she could keep up with her wine knowledge at work—she absolutely loved that job and was always keen to learn more.
On October 17th, I brought Jo to the hospital for some tests. None of us knew then that she wouldn’t leave, and now, here we are, celebrating her life and remembering the joy she brought to all of us.
When I think about this, I can’t help but reflect on how quickly time passes and how fleeting life can be. My message to all of you is this: live life to the fullest. Forgive easily. Don’t hold grudges. Get your annual checkups and take care of your health.
Joanna, you were one of a kind, and we will miss you. Rest in peace, my dear friend. We’ll be raising our glasses to you—and probably sharing dessert in your honor—often.
You will be missed my friend. I know you are now at peace and out of pain. You are reunited with your family members gone before you. May they welcome you with open arms. Your friends and family left behind now have a loss to get through and it won't be easy. You were taken so suddenly and now it all seems quiet. The strength of our family of friends will keep your memories alive. Watch over us from above. Until we meet again. And if anyone really knew Joanne you know usually you got the hand when wanting to take a picture of her. So its not a mistake it was her trademark for awhile. Love Sherry
We'll miss you, and all of your sass for all the days ahead Jo. Your quick wit, sense of humour, and spiciness will always be remembered fondly. Thank you for being a friend! ❤️
My sympathy to Jojo's family. She truly loved traveling and it was always a pleasure to have her join me on my New York trips any times in out Pizza Pizza days and even after. Rest In Piece Jojo.
“In the night of death a bright beam shines, for the heavens is welcoming another soul towards their eternal home. Heaven is free of pain and sorrow that we know. That is the best place of eternal abode with our Maker. Don’t worry, she is in good hands. May her soul rest in perfect peace.
No words can express the sadness for the loss of our dear friend. May our warmest memories of her surround us in this difficult time.
Always in my heart. Love Sam”
