Obituary of Kate Kowalchuk

KOWALCHUK, Kate (nee Hawreliak)

Kate, born in Shandro, Alberta, passed away peacefully in her 102^nd year on February 19, 2018 at Franklin Gardens Long Term Care Home in Leamington, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband William in 2009. Kate is survived by her daughters; Barbara (John) Waldow and Gwen (Mike) Campbell; her grandsons John W. Waldow (Heather), Aaron Campbell (Caireen); her great-granddaughter Alice Waldow and her great-grandson Rowan Campbell. Kate leaves behind three sisters in Alberta, Lena Cherniwchan, Anne Bidniak and Pearl Kalancha, as well as many nieces and nephews. Kate was predeceased by her parents Mike and Waselina Hawreliak; three sisters, Mary Repka, Rose Boychuk and Nancy Kozak; and two brothers Nick and Andy Hawreliak. A special thank you to the nurses and staff of Franklin Gardens for their kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A “Celebration of her Life” will be held at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, May 6, 2018 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to sign the online book of condolence at www.donaldvbrown.ca
