Obituary of James Henderson Pryde

PRYDE, James Henderson

February 26, 1930 – January 24, 2018

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of James Henderson Pryde on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 in his 87th year.  James was surrounded with love until his peaceful passing by his beloved wife and best friend of 54 years Diana, daughter Laura, son Warren, niece Rosslyn (Mark), sister-in-law Barbara and Rev. Matthew who provided comfort for all.  Predeceased by his parents John and Esther, sisters Ester, Marge, Agnes and brothers Richard, Jack, Alan, Douglas and Ken.  James will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, as well as those whose lives he touched.  Hard working throughout his life, James began delivering ice as a young boy, spent memorable years with the Bank of Nova Scotia, and worked 50 years in the food service industry beginning with Finlay Fish retiring as Vice President of Human Resources.  Special thanks to Dr. T. Creatchman, Dr. Stallwood, Dr. A. Ingram, Dr. C. Muhn and the diabetes team who all cared for him.  Visitation will be held at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Sunday, January 28, 2018 for 2 -4 p.m.  Funeral Service will be held at Anglican Church of the Nativity, 1831 King St. E. Hamilton on Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11 a.m.  Interment to follow at Woodland Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Church of the Nativity or Hamilton/Burlington SPCA would be appreciated.  Notes of sympathy and condolence may be made at www.donaldvbrown.ca
