Obituary of Walter Bert Gmeterick

GMETERICK, Walter Bert

Peacefully, on September 25, 2017 at Grand River Hospital in Kitchener, "Big Wally” passed away in his 71st year.   He was the long time companion of Cathy Webber of Wingham.   Father and Step-father to Wally Gmeterick Jr. (Monica), April Roach, James Pickering (Kate), Tyson Webber (Julie), Melissa James (Renny) and son by choice Scott Schiestel (Amy).  Grumpy to Elli, Lindzy, Brett, Zack, Calieb, Kyle, Sam, MacKenzie, Samantha, Avery, Brin and Emmett.  Great-Grumpy to Toren, Rhiley and Ryker.  Survived by his brother Chico (Candi) Gmeterick and sister Kathy (Dave) Romain.  Predeceased by his parents Alfred and Mary Gmeterick, brother Frank Gmeterick, sister Bernice Keats and granddaughter Chelsea Gmeterick.  Lovingly missed by many nieces and nephews.   Celebration of Life to be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 3-11 p.m. at The Sportsmans Club of Wingham, 209 Royal Rd, Wingham, Ontario.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance would be greatly appreciated by the family.
