Obituary of Madeleine Lortie

LORTIE, Madeleine After a long struggle with cancer, surrounded by her family, Madeleine passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Hospital on February 25, 2017 at the age of 80. Beloved wife of the late Claude. Cherished mother of Claude Leblanc (Guy), Lynne Sturk (Mike), Gina Veliky and Danny Lortie (Joni). Devoted Grand-maman of Roxanne, Nathalie, Stephan, Nicholas, Randy, Brandon, Brydan, Dylan and the late Justin. Also remembered by many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Goffin, Dr. Wooder, the palliative team at Juranvinski Hospital, CCAC, AbleLiving and the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital. Friends will be received at Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Notre-Dame du Perpétuel-Secours, 243 Cumberland Avenue, Hamilton on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
