Obituary of Margaret (Peggy) J. Jackson

JACKSON, Margaret J. (Peggy) Passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 18, 2016, in her 96th year. Wife of the late Elwood Jackson and also predeceased by her parents Mary and Harry Edwards and siblings Thelma, Ed, Audrey, Art and Vern. Lovingly remembered by her children Leslie (Shelley), Doug (Paula), and Terry (Donna). Cherished grandmother of Scott (Ashley), Glen, Rachael (Craig), Denise, Kathryn, Erin (Mike) and great-grandchildren Grace, Abby, Jaxon, Torin and Myles. Peggy also leaves her sister Joyce Shand (Charlie) many nieces and nephews and her dear friend Lynn Jackson. Peggy was a woman ahead of her time. She served in WWII as a Navy Wren, was an active member of Christ Church, Woodburn, she built her own home with her late husband, earned her license to fly as well as working a variety of jobs: telephone operator, quality inspector, rural postal employee and office manager. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Donald V. Brown Funeral Home, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek, on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 21 at 1 p.m. Interment Mountview Gardens.
